The tub is on the frame!

On Sunday we put the tub on the frame for the first fitting. After cutting two TR3s in halfs to get one good TR3 all the bolt holes lined up. Now we will do all the body work while on the frame. Then lift it off for paint. Then the fun part begins "reassembly". I had the headres ceramic coated and some of the other engine parts powder coated. Added a oil cooler, 12' puller fan, ported head and redid the exhaust. I don't think that I will make it to the TRF in SLO with the TR3 but we will drive the Audi down for the weekend.
P.S. Thats Moe and Jason "THE BODY GUYS"

How many bolts did you break or strip out?

Dan: Looks real nice! I see you haven't tackled the stone guards yet. I would be very interested in hearing about your experience with them when you get to it. Real bear of a job to get nice.

Good luck, Frank

Hi Dan;
When I went to reassemble my TR3, I discovered that the rear bumperette holes needed to be raised. To reshimm the rear body mounts, the four main body bolts had to be loosened, and also reshimmed to keep the doors from draging. Then the front needed adjusting.
May I suggest that you check your rear bumperette bolt alignment. It would've saved me a bunch of time.

Looking great Dan. Just a shame that you are having to go through it all again so soon.

The first time I did the stone guards was fairly simple. Just trim and fit, trim and fit, trim and fit, etc. Use plenty of blue tape to protect the paint.
