Does anyone have the link to the fellow who was doing a project where he mounted a 3 body on a 4 frame? I have a 3 shell thats been removed from a bodged frame that was altered for an American engine. Someone I know has a 4 frame that's body was destroyed in a garage fire. So this might be a way to use both.I remember that this was a doable project but I think the 4 frame was 4" wider? I remember seeing pics of a 3 that was cut down the middle and widened. Anyone have any info or links on this. Karl

Here's a link to the article in British V8. Will that help??

Actually, he put it on a TR6 frame and widened the body four inches to fit.

There was _someone_ who was putting a TR3 body onto a TR4 frame, but I don't have the link handy. But he was doing it with wide fenders, similar to the factory TR3 Beta.

IIRC, the body mounts are in similar locations, so the mods to the tub are minor. The TR4 frame was only widened at the front suspension mounts; the extra width in the rear was (at least mostly) just a longer rear axle.

Search for posts from Greg_Blake, he's finishing up his version of the beta. Seems like wider fenders would be easier to accomodate the wider frame, as opposed to splitting the body in half.
