The tire quest.

I bought new wheels 13 x 5 Minilite wannabes- pretty and shiny. Now, finding tires to fit. I've asked members previously. Discount Tires wants to sell me 175/60/13- wear number 420AA. It seems they would fit but I'm not sure that they are sticky enough for autocrossing. I can't access the Spitfire GT6 magazine website and the tire/ wheel section. Your input is always sought and appreciated.

i have 205/60's on one of my TR7's. Kumhos I think.

Next question... Where does one buy such tires. I'm not finding them listed in Tire Rack or Discount Tires. Do you suppose they may be too wide for the Spit?

Had 175/70-13 Sumitomos on my Spit...

its tough to get a good selection in 13 now..everyone wants bigger...

i think tire rack is a sponsoring vendor with BCF. If you use the site's link BCF gets something.

Interesting, didn't know about Tire Rack's support. How nice it would be if there were a complete list of supporting vendors (so we could support those who support). Possibly the "new" forum will show them.

On the left hand side of the screen there is a box titled Site Links. Within that box there is a link to Supporting Vendors.

Interestly, Moss Motors is not listed yet I see their advertising prominently displayed on the web site.

I do not see any tire specific retailers listed.

THESE Vreds might work.

UTQG of 220

$103 each

If you can to go a bit more, you can get Toyo R888s (185/60-13) for about $140 each. UTQG is 100 and cost is about $140.

I've run these Toyos on my street Miata (as well as Toyo RA1s). Nice and soft and not as bad as you'd think in terms of wear.

These guys: Tires-Easy show 63 choices for 175/70x13.

Not sure what other sizes you could use but have used that site for several sets of tires. Cheap and fast delivery of fresh tires.
