I am in the process of remodeling my bathroom. I had an old antique dresser in there that I needed to move to another part of the house so that I can have a clear floor for when I retile the floor. In the process of moving the dresser, I noticed a folded piece of paper jammer just under the top of the dresser, between the top and the frame of the dresser. I was barely able to get it out and unfolded it to see what it was.

It was a letter from Feb 1979 for my appointment to go take the AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test). I had been going to college in my spare time (I was SSGT at the time) and had applied and was accepted for the "Airman's Education and Commissioning Program (AECP)". It's a highly competitive program for enlisted and, if selected, the Air Force will send you to school full time to complete your degree, then send you to OTS to get a commission.

I was selected, but had to pass this test to complete the process and get officially into the program. (Happy to say I did NOT miss the appointment).

Don’t see an email address to confirm :ROFLMAO:
Nice find!

Not nearly as official but as we were unpacking this fluttered out of a desk drawer. My daughter would forever do things like this. She is 34 now and it occupies pride of place in the top drawer next to the bed.
