The supply chain problems hit home

Back over the Memorial Day weekend, I ordered a new LG front loading washer and dryer from Lowes, along with the "side kick" washer that sits under the main washer. At the time of the order, I was able to pick an available delivery date, so I chose June 20th, which was the earliest that showed as an available date.

Fast forward to today, June 17th and the order still does not show that it has shipped. Getting nervous, I called Lowes and they said since it was a "special order" item it was being shipped direct from LG and not from Lowes. They gave me a "PO number" that would allow LG to look up the order, so I called LG.

The customer agent looked up my PO number and informed me that, due to supply issues from their stuff coming from overseas, there was a delay in my order. They are now telling my new "estimated" delivery date is going to be the week of August 11th! YIKES!!! We are currently without a washer and dryer, so it looks like I'll be taking trips to the local laundromat to do laundry! What fun!!

This is the washer and dryer that I really want after doing a lot of research, and I get an exceptional deal on it, so I'm not inclined to cancel the order. I just wish the delivery time wasn't so far in the future.

I ordered new flooring for my kitchen in April. Delivery supposed to be in mid-June. Two days ago I was informed that it will be delayed another 4 weeks. For me itโ€™s not a huge problem but I can see how doing without a major appliance can be a pain.

When my job outsourced me in April 2020 I was marked as retired rather than terminated due to my age, which meant I got a retirement gift. Fast forward to now, still hasn't arrived and I'm told probably won't as too much time had passed, even though I've inquired multiple times.

The worst part was explaining to SWMBO that the washer and dryer I promised was coming Monday will be delayed at leased until August so until then we are without! Not a happy camper.

Nice! Not. I got a group picture with my team and a small plaque when I retired.

The gift itself wasn't as important, but the fact I ordered it 3 times, kept getting 4-5-6 month delivery times and eventual notices that I was no longer listed in the system, would I like to order again, was the annoying part. Toss me out as cost savings with a bunch of others, but at least get what you tell me I deserve as a parting gift right...

I bought a new '21 Mazda 3 last July. Got rear ended April 12. Adjuster determined $21,000 repair. Have been waiting for backordered parts ever since. No estimated delivery date. In the meantime, no daily driver.

Akkkk! Sorry to hear that!

"We live in interesting times" doesn't even come close to describing it.

If I posted what I think, I'd be in BCF Hades. So instead:

Why isnโ€™t the personโ€™s at fault insurance company paying for a rental for you?

Still waiting on some of the smaller items to finish up our renovations... small stuff like SINKS for the bathrooms, those special mechanical bits for kitchen cabinets... and so far those are only the COVID related delays.
