The Proper MG

I recently received my MG back from my son, not too much worse for the wear - that is another long story that only happens because it is family. Along with it was my collection of old catalogs - impressive. One of them was "The Proper MG". I can't find them on line. Do they still exist?
Bob

Nope....Long gone. Before they were 'The Proper MG' they were known as 'Phoenix Distribution' and catered to resellers and shops. I bought a lot of parts from them as their prices and service rivaled SICP at the time. Then it changed to 'The Proper MG' and 'things' were never the same. Anyway , that's how I remember it.

SICP = Special Import Car Parts. (I think)

Proper MG often carried accesories and parts not stocked by other suppliers here in the states....but fell upon hard times a couple of years ago, to the point where the feds got involved for fraud, etc.

They are no longer in business.

I personally had no issues with them on the orders that I gave them, but I know several other enthusiasts who were on the receiving end of a screwdriver.

Special Interest Car Parts.

...and THEY are th' ones I miss.

*sigh*

Yep , I miss them both especially since they spoke factory (or at least Unipart) part #'s. So who were the other suppliers before them? I remember Monmouth,CEW,Ship'n'Shore,MGMitten,IMPAC,Eurasian,Nisonger(Moss)...who else ?

Me too. Just when I got started back up again with my Jag and MG's they dissapeared. Sad. Nice prices and a huge catalog on the XJ6.

Yep that's me. Barry and I started British Car Service in 1983. I cannot remember when you worked there. Come on down to the farm and get more MG stuff. PM me if you don't have my #.

Barry - you still in Villa Rica?
