I'd find it almost impossible to come up with a list that I'd agree with tomorrow. I just can't compare road cars with sports-racing cars.
I also find it hard to consider appearance alone. For example, I love TR-3s, but appearance wise think they look more suitable for hauling luggage carts around an airport tarmac than most anything else. I think the GT6 is the prettiest Triumph and feel it compares well with lots of other cars mentioned above. Given a choice, though, I'd probably take the TR-3.
All that gibberish notwithstanding I'd have to put the XK-SS and D-Type Jag near the top. I think the Lotus 17 is better looking than the Eleven. I think the Lotus 16 Formula 1 & 2 car was the best looking formula car ever. The Elan Coupe is high on the list.
Speaking of the Jaguar SS100, there is a company in the UK that makes a near-perfect (visually) replica of the SS100, but with modern running gear! Check it out:
The 1934 Triumph Dolomite https://www.getnet.com/~edg/rodeo/dolomite.html . Chrome/Triumph/Healey Straight 8 what else could you want! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif(maybe Waynes' 49 TRA 2000 in my garage instead of my basket case) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

The XJ13 isn't bad and I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at an E-type but my vote definitely goes for the Jaguar D-Type. That's number one in my book!
