This one blew me away, I came across it tonight on Flickr, I'd almost kill for this photo opportunity, but back to the drawing board for me, I may as well just give up now... :wall:

Wow - that is a great shot!

Right place at the right time.

You don't think the couple has been photo shopped in?

Hey! I want to be there.
If only in my dreams

Naw, it's probably a lot of observation by the photographer (ie. lots of patience) in order to take advantage of a unique perspective on the Eiffel Tower, I guess those lights were only on there for a week... And I'm still very jealous of the photographer...

Last time I was in Paris, last year, they had blue lights on the Tour, and I can't say I liked 'em.
Ever since 2000 they've been messing about with them, but I liked the old gold/yellow sodium vapour lights.
Oh well, c'est la vie, it's their city and I don't live there any more!

White or Blue light does not matter to me. I would love to go to see the Eiffel Tower.

Looks posed. Not hard to arrange anyway. Darn nice shot for sure though.

It's a great shot, no question. But James, you are every bit the equal of the photographer in terms of ability, and certainly in composition. Difference is, your shots are not staged ansd with this one there is every likelihood that it was. Put another way, if you were in Paris you too would be churning out images of this calibre.

We have our own Paris, just down the road from me:

And a darn good fish fry every year!

Come to think of it, I have passed through Paris, Ontario... I didn't stop though... Maybe I should have

Sherlock;
Yes you should have stopped in Paris Ont.
It is a quiet town where little happens. No tower though.
Does have one of the best car shows in the area every summer.

Dave :driving:

You might not realize - or want to know! LoL - there are twenty three cities and towns in the United States named after Paris.

New Paris, Indiana
New Paris, Ohio
New Paris, Pennsylvania
Paris, Arkansas
Paris, Dakota Territory
Paris, Idaho
Paris, Illinois
Paris, Kentucky.
Paris, South Paris, West Paris, and Paris Hill, Maine
Paris, Michigan
Paris, Missouri
Paris, New York
Paris, Ohio
Paris, Pennsylvania
(Too small to even have a census, these last Parises are technically communities. Though unincorporated, they do have a post office (for each) and their own zip codes.)
Paris, Tennessee
Paris, Texas
Paris, Virginia
Paris, Wisconsin
There are two Parises in the state of Wisconsin. One, in Grant County, has 754 people. The other is in Kenosha County and occupies much more space but still only has 1,473 people.
Other "Paris"
Paris Township, Michigan
Not to be confused with Paris, Michigan, Paris Township is a civil township with a population of 557. The unincorporated community within Paris Township is called Parisville, which has been a Polish American settlement since 1848, making it one of the oldest in the States.
St. Paris, Ohio
Originally called "New Paris," the founder (David Huffman) renamed the village after learning there was another place in Ohio called "New Paris." While there is an actual Saint Paris, it is unclear whether Huffman meant the town name as a reference to him or not.

More useless information to crowd our brains!!

"Paris, Dakota Territory"...? Territory ?

"Paris, Tennessee" is incorporated & the county seat of Henry County; at the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,763.
