Kim Tonry posted this link on Facebook today....

He stated: "After gassing up the MG this morning, I was inspired to search for this 1996 or so ad. At the time it was funny to me because it was implausible that you could fit over $20 of $1.20 a gallon gas into the 12 U.S. gallon MGA gas tank. Today it's funny because now you only put $20 in if you just drove from another gas station..."

How true.

:cryin:

As a freshman at Trenton State College in 1968, I used to fill up my Sprite for $2.00 of the "cheap stuff" (0.27 per gallon). If it was bone dry, it might take $2.25.

The "good stuff" (Amoco 'white gas', which was unleaded premium) cost 0.33 per gallon.

Of course, I was making $1.65 per hour and a new Sprite was $1700.

And my tuition was $200 / semester.

Yeah, just fueled the Alfa this AM... was sniffin' "E". $20 put the gauge just under half a tank. It's gonna get worse before it gets better, methinks. :wall:

I could have sworn this was gonna be about...
