I finally got my new MkII Monday. The carb needs to be gone through, the brakes and clutch need to be bled, I need to get a windshield gasket and put the windshield back in it, and get a top for it. Other than that though the car seems great. I should be picking up the 1147cc from work in the spring and begining rebuilding it. Till then I can live with the 1493cc some bone head put in it. Pictures will be along soon.

I rather like the thought of the big block on my wife's MkII. We bought the cars for a cruising to the lake or up to the Sonic. Turns out the cars are actually turnpike cruisers now, hers will be. Now that I have an inventory of engines I wonder about using a Weber carb with the 1147, since I picked up a free Weber manifold. For the 1493 I bought some European SUs and manifold so I can take full advantage of all that displacement.

The Spitfires are pretty neat cars, aren't they? T.T.
