These two elderly couples are having dinner at one of their houses; after dinner the two women go to the kitchen to get the coffee and dessert, and one husband says to the other one “Boy, did we have a good meal at that new restaurant that just opened downtown. Have you been there yet?”
“No”, says the other, “What’s the name of the place?”
“Oh Gee”, says the first guy, “What was it now? Um – it’s –uh (he looks off toward the kitchen) “What’s the name of that flower everyone likes, you know, the most popular flower…”
“Daisies?” , says the friend.
“No, no, it’s- er – “ (Looks again toward the kitchen) “you know, a nice flower, you can wear it on your lapel”
“Carnation?”, he asks
“No. Oh gosh, it’s – um – jeepers, why can’t I think” (again looking anxiously toward the kitchen doorway) “You know, it smells nice, they come in pink, red, white”
“A Rose?” says the other.
“That’s it!!!” he says, and hollers toward the kitchen “ROSE! What’s the name of that new restaurant we went to last night!!?”
“No”, says the other, “What’s the name of the place?”
