Is the new Jaguar X400 with four wheel drive and V6 power a winner for Jaguar?

Looks very sharp and the competitive price..should really help bring Jaguar into many more homes..

I can only imagine how many I will see around the North east...

Style it has..thats for sure.

Would any of you or your wives be riding in this if you were in the market after its release?...

"Jaguar sounds sooooo sexy.."says my wife...

I offered to buy her the new convertible..but she said..if I had the Vette..one of us needed to be practical...I just looked and said to her WHY?...LOL

The new X400 offers her what she might be looking for..I think its truly one of the nicest products they are presently making...from the photos...its lines look nice to me...


I'm hoping to see some real excitment coming from Jaguar throughout the decade...from what they've done so far and where they are heading..I believe that to truly be an understatement!!!

F-type might just pull me when it hits the market in 2004?

Between the X400 and the F-type sports car..WOW..On track and taking no prisioners....

Call me a spoil sport but I just don't like it. It's a good car, don't get me wrong, and it looks great - but I have a feeling that it'll dilute Jaguar's image, which has always partially been driven by exclusivity. The profusion of new models and the shifting of attention away from the XJ series to me represents an attempt on Ford's part to boost Jaguar sales by using the image. But if sales get too high, the image gets watered down.

Hopefully Ford and Jaguar will find a compromise point.

Ironically, when Jaguar first started with the early XK series and even the XKE, the goal was to provide a quality, high-performance car and make it affordable so that the average guy could afford it. Over time, however, Jaguar has become more and more the venue of the rich (or at leaset above middle class). I mean, the XKE when it came out was around $3500, which was not cheap, but it was far less that, say, a Ferarri. Now, the XJ8 is upwards of 80 grand!! They need to produce something of quality which will be accessable by the average man. IMHO
