The metal turned purple!!!!

I'm in the final stages before applying primer on my 69 GT6 and I may have screwed up a tad.
I had sprayed on some Eastwood Rust converter in a few spots then rinsed it as directed. After a few days I used some metal wash (purchased from eastwood as well)to help clean and keep the metal from flash rusting until my primer arrives. It seems that where there is an overlap of the rust converter and metal wash the metal has turned a funky purple color. Has this ever happen to anyone else? What affect will this have on my primer and paint? Do I ever need to worry about it?

Many thanks

Mikey

Might not be applicable at all but, I had a duck gun camouflaged once and they painted the barrel also. I have no idea what they used for a primer on the blued barrel, if they used anything at all, but even though the gun hasn't had the best of care, the paint has never come off.
