On that trip to the park, there were four or five local TV affiliate camera crews, all with video cameras on sticks. At first it was kinda obvious the attitude was: "Oh joy. Here's another 'Uncle Joe' gonna get in-frame all the time." After I'd maneuvered around a bit avoiding just that, their attitude switched, they became actually friendly. Funny how "professional courtesy" works.

I exchanged a bit of conversation with one of the older guys, he told me he'd retired from the Air Force, had been an AV type for them. I asked if he'd known a Mitch Jenkins. His eyes lit up, apparently while Mitch had been an instructor with DINFOS they'd met. I'd worked with Mitch way back at Langley. He made a career of it, went on after retirement to teach videography. I'd posted a photo of him here a while ago, taken in about 1972, thru a screen door after a rain. Small world.

Amazing how small the military world can be. Great read about Mitch circa 2016.
