Then those are certainly the correct carbs. They are quite different from the later HS2s, while still being surprisingly similar!

here is one setup off the 948 9C carbs that is closer to what you might need but I am pretty sure the choke linkage and cable ends are NOT original
(ok so i can't figure out how to post a picture but if you PM me i will email it to you- sorry)
 
I found the picture, right clicked it and "Copy Image Location" and then came here and started a post and chose the "Enter an Image" icon and chose the first of the choices and then pasted in the address of the picture.

Congrats on getting the little red one going. Sounds like fun!

You were asking for ideas for how to clear up your choke problems. I have an idea of how you can clear up the choke problems, take care of the gas leaks, and not have to worry about all those other things like oil pressure, temperature, etc... ELECTRIC! :lol:

Just kidding! Anyone that would take a good usable engine out of one of these cars to put in an electric motor, should be shot.
