And remember "Paul is dead?" The story goes that at 5am on Wednesday 9 November 1966, McCartney stormed out of a session for the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Bandalbum, got in to his Austin Healey car, and subsequently crashed and died.

A local restaurant owner, Dave Gardunio, had a huge collection if cars which he displayed in a small pay-to-view garage behind on of his many restaurants. One of his cars on display was Lennon's White Rolls. I think he had to sell it a few years back due to Taxman problems.

Hey, that's a left-hand rive car (with those plates). Interesting. Given the background scenery, I wonder where it was taken.

The photo was taken in Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The car belonged to Klaus Voorman who was the bassist with Manfred Mann and designed the Beatles album covers. Here's a pencil sketch done by Klaus:

Taxman, huh, they out to write a song about that.

"If you drive a car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet"
