The horrors behind nice primer - Pedro was here

In my push to get as many repairs ready for welding as possible I dove into the passenger side TR4A front fender tonight, only to find that the car must have visited Pedro!

The primer came right off on bottom to reveal very well shaped fiberglass put right on top of rust spots on naked metal. Nice!

You can still see the mesh imprint on the metal...

The "nose" held a nice surprise as well, here is the chunk of filler I took out once I got through the heavy under coating;

Work done at your local surf shop.
I don't think you will ever be comfortable with that front damage. I think that is the front.

LOL. Actually, as a SoCal car that might just be what happened....

Bottom of the fender looks like a fairly "easy" repair. The front section is going to be a nightmare...
