I thought my 3 was idling rough every since Texas. Checked my compression and had zero in number 3 cylinder. Pulled the head, burnt exhaust valve. Ordered new exhaust valves, tappets, and top and bottom gasket kits. Guides were like new. While the manifolds are off, I'm converting to an alternator and gear reduction starter.

If you see my wife, you never heard this.

Bummer. But the bright side...new parts! I love the smell of new parts in the mail...

Do you have hardened exhaust valve seats?? If not, it would be a good time to install them.
