I'm an Illustrator and sometimes I get to combine personal hobbies into my work. I did this one, "The Great Race" for an international WIP competition. I had to squeeze this illustration in in between a lot of Pirate paintings. Anyway, thought I would share.
I hope you don't mind... I grabbed a copy of it to use with my screensaver at work. Very nice indeed, but do add your name to it somewhere. You deserve credit for such nice work.
I like the style.......although you categorise them as illustrations, they are really paintings aren't they? What medium are you using there? I am guessing acrylics?
All of these are digitally painted in the program Painter. I used to use traditional mediums, I still do for my gallery work. However, my illustrations have all gone digital. I draw them with a stylist in the computer and then paint away. I work a lot in the entertainment industry - this medium has become the standard choice of many of us there. The program has become so sophisticated that I can pick any type of brush within any medium. I do like to still push real paint though. Heres is one of my pirate illustrations, digitally painted.
