The gauntlet has been thrown down over at Flickr on this dance photo of mine, one person would love to see the eyes (I tend to agree with him) and one person likes it this way (perhaps leaning toward the idea of mystery)

So to be totally unscientific, what do you think... And in case you're wondering the photos with the eyes doesn't exist, but with just the right timing... So I can be a wee bit of a perfectionist at times...

And you might have seen Eric and Kelly on So You Think You Can Dance (Canada) in case you thought they might look familiar...

Is that movement of her left arm where she is about to smack you for sneaking up on her to take that picture?

She actually slid toward me, had enough time for three frames, yeah I can stand my ground rather well sometimes... In case anyone is wondering, this photo was taken at 22mm focal length with nothing cropped from the bottom of the image...

Not the story my mind's working on!

Strange positioning . . . looks like Elvis has been reincarnated, and a girl is on the stage with him having a seizure.

Hmmmmmm . . .

But the eyes tell the story...
I think the eyes tell A story, but not the whole story. Without them, the viewer is forced to see other things in the photo they may have missed otherwise. The interpretation is wider also.

A good movie to see is Visions of Light. A documentary about Directory's of Photography and what choices they made filming. Here is a clip from it where they talk about not lighting Marlon Brando's eyes. Seemed appropriate.

You're the artist.

Why do you care what we think?

I agree with John, what does our opinion matter.

Having said that, I believe mystery and the unknown are two great alluring values. Without her eyes, the viewer sees so much more.
Sherlock, you do great work. That is a tremendous talent.
I look forward to your submissions here. Thanks.

I guess I was just bored last night, and just for something to do...

And I only wish this was planned, I was photographing them dancing from the side of the stage and then in an instant that took me by surprise the dance move was for Eric to literally throw Kelly along the floor like this, this was mostly a reaction I got lucky on...

She's hot and has red hair. That's all that counts to me!!!!

I used to trade red heads, then I decided to keep one.
