For a bit of classic British humor, that directly inspired the Monty Python troupe, try the Goon Show.

I LOVE the goons!!!!!!! Honestly, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It takes a little effort to get into the humour at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can see where Monty Python came from. Years ahead of their time, and they still have a strong cult following. Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Peter Sellars. Yes, the great Clouseau.

All four of the Beatles were huge Goon Show fans, which is obvious once you've heard some of the Goon's stuff. On "The Beatles Live at the BBC" disc, during one of the bits where the boys are clowning around with the presenter, John Lennon says "Love those Goon Shows!"
