TR4/4A The Gap between the Door and the B Post on the 4A?

Anyone know what the ideal size of the door gap should be between the door and the B post or did the gap vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on how the cars were originally assembled back in the day?

Karl, an even gap all the way round is ideal, but error on the wide side at the front so as not to hit the fender with the door edge. Lay a thick towel over the "B" post, bottom door jam and take the catch off the post, much easier to get the gaps right, don't forget you can make some shims for the front hinge mounts. Always be concerned with the leading edge of the door. The shims behind the door lock catch should only be used after getting the gaps right, use a thin cloth to keep from cutting the paint under the catch when first you are getting it in place.. The catch is adjusted to the door not the door to the catch.
