Watcha think?

It's an all-weather scooter..... not so sure its a viable alternative to the car. I'm all for change, but I don't know if this really is a "good" change.
Possibly for use in countries that don't have the infrastructure of highways that we do here.

I see it and it's occupants being punted across intersections everywhere. i see 'em as time capsules to be found sometime in'na future. They be found in'na woods after lowsiding off the road with it's contents still inside.

The good news they'll already be prepacked fer burial, just drop th' whole thing in'na hole :congratulatory:

Could be very cool, as long as all the systems keep working. The gyro stuff is very neat, but there is always that issue of fail state.

A car's systems fail, you coast to the road side. A plane's systems fail, you may crash. This seems somewhat in the middle. Those gyros ad better *never* fail.

That said, big thumbs up for trying something different. I'm always a fan of that.

I congratulate him for trying something innovative. I think it would work best in places with high congestion. I don't know how well something like that would go over, and I don't know if you would ever convince me to trust in some electronic gizmo to keep me safe.

If you can't trust modern electronics then never fly in a current commercial airliner!
BillM

It would make a great commuter vehicle and keep the cars out of the cities . BTW there is no throttle cable on my Audi.

I applaud his entrepreneurial spirit. That's what it is all about. If there's a market, he'll make a fortune.

I don't fly, but that is mostly because the nanny state won't let me carry a knife on board. As far as airliners avionics they are well maintained, just as with cars and bikes currently sold there will be little to no maintenance done on most of these. This little scooter will be owned by your average car owner, or in other words people who think the oil idiot light is there to tell them its time to change the oil.

Be cool to race them on ice with studded tires...

Be cooler if they were amphibious.

Otherwise, not a good idea for America's roadways.

Great concept. I can see this doing well in those areas where small city cars are popular.

Inner city use would have to start with a mind set change on driving and courtesy. I can't see that surviving an encounter with any New York cab, or bus for that matter.

Do the gyros keep it completely upright on turns, I wonder? Any who've 'sat' a bike would ask.

I s'pose there's some processor resources dedicated to compensate for lateral load factoring.

ANY fly-by-wire transport puts too much trust in a ~thing~ IMO. I'll stay on the ground and keep my Yestertech vehicle(s), thankewverrymuch. :smirk:

It does seem a bit of a "fad" thing. I remember all the hype over the "Segway" - it was going to revolutionize how we got around. Besides mall cops, I've seen exactly one of those devices actually used by a private citizen (a fellow with has a real need due to a neurological problem).

If I were to buy something with two wheels it would probably be something like a Triumph Bonneville or the America.

850 Moto guzzi El Dorado for me. It would also cost a whole lot less than 25 Grand.

Really doesn't seem anymore dangerous than riding a motorcycle in the city. For me, if I ever bought a motorcycle, it'd be a '48 Indian Chief.

If ya don't care for fly-by-wire, keep away from the new Nissans coming out. Electric steering. And I don't mean electric instead of hydraulic assist. I mean no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front tires! designed to fail-safe through electric clutches if the power is cut, but still! whatif that dummy black box decides I meant to hang a louie while I wuz goin straight?!
