The Frite

I can attest to it being impressive!

The ad that Marty copied for his sale listing is a hoot as well!!

Kurt.

Auto or stick? I could not tell from this ad. Great read.

The ad says C4, so it is an automatic.

That sucks.
In principle I totally agree with you, have never understood the idea of putting a high performance engine swap in a sports car or Cobra replica and pairing it with a slushbox (or putting a small block chevy in a Cobra replica, which just doesn't seem right at all to me, but I digress). However in practice, in this car, doesn't really matter what gear you are in or whether it is connected via a clutch or a torque converter, you hit the gas pedal hard, the rear wheels spin.

I thought this was going to be about another large-engine Bugeye (with a Jaguar engine) called "The Fright" in Oz.

You can read about it ~HERE~

I don't think there's much room for a clutch pedal down in Marty's footwell either! Figuring how busy you would be a auto might be an advantage in this car.

Kurt.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a V8 Spridget with a manual transmission. By the time you narrow the footwells to fit the V8 bellhousing, I don't think there's enough room left for a clutch pedal. I only narrowed my footwells an inch on the big Healey and after swinging the brake and clutch pedals to the left, I don't have enough room between the clutch pedal and the kick panel to operate the headlamp dip switch.

Just another one of the unseen problems looking for a solution when you start swapping drivetrains. Solved as follows:

Did you make the "head lamp dip" medallion, Rick, and where did you source the long stem toggle switch?? Such a setup would aid my "big foot" problem in a spridget.

Kurt.

Thanks Rick! I figured you would use the switch through relays. I would do the same. Think I need to order some more bit's!

Kurt

I ran my switch for the high beams right next to my left knee. Works good there. And there is no room for a clutch pedal. My footwell is 13 inches total width at the base, just put a lenko type shifter in the car like I did and you'll have the best of both worlds.
