Going back to my earliest memories - these are cars like my parents owned over the years. They came of age in the 1930s. While in the Army in WW2, Dad said he learned not to trust GM and Ford engines, so always favored Chrysler and Nash cars. Mom and Dad could never afford new cars, so we always got "tried and true cream puff" used cars.

1950 Plymouth

1952 Nash Rambler (the "doodle-bug"):

They were really proud to have been able to get that used Mercedes. Later they had an early Honda CVCC and a 1970s Renault.

Mom kept the Renault until she died in 1982; Dad kept the Honda until he died in 1987.

Unfortunately a Ford pinto, as the gas shortage was going on.
I had my B in the garage, but didn’t have the money to insure and license until I was nearly 17.

The car that I had my drivers test in was dads Buick Century! He said if I can pass the test in it, I could drive anything!. I passed!
It was a tank compared to todays cars.
