I am here to inform all of you of the unfortunate demise of Elliot (Gliderman8). It has come to my attention that he is no longer in the land of the living.....

He has succumbed to "the man" has has jumped in feet first into employment.
I would like all of you to join me by raising your glasses in a toast to the man who always was on and had a funny line for everything!
We will miss you Elliot!!!

Hey guys.... I am alive and well. Just returned to the employment arena. All is well! :encouragement:

LOL Bob Denver as Maynard.
I'm reminded of a line from the play "Middletown" where the guy says "I'm in between 2 terrible jobs right now, only I don't know what the second one is yet." It's the same hilarious place (take-off on Wilder's "Our Town") where the protagonist describes gravity as a "silent killer." LOLOLOL

I'm phasing into retirement (currently on a 6 months off cycle - and my next 6 months "on" will be my last).

Good luck Elliot!

Elliot - if you've been looking for work and finally found it - then CONGRATS!

Took me a while to figure out what this thread is actually about. My brain ain't what it used to be (if it ever was ...).

Tom

Welcome to the land of the zombies.........

Thanks Tom. I've actually been looking for quite some time. Oh, and don't fret about understanding this thread as I was neither the originator, nor the requester. All I can say is that the originating nameless poster should be scared because rabbit season has begun....

Ben- It's good being a zombie again!

Someone's in really big trouble. Just sayin..:triumphant::nana:

Gave me a very nasty turn there for a minute... Congrats on finding something at long last. I started a new gig this week, after being laid off over the winter. As we Brits say, "Sod that for a game of soldiers", so i was searching during my enforced idleness. The new thing is not what I want but will do until I find something more suitable at least.

Thanks Steve. I'm kind of in a similar situation; it's not a perfect job but it will do. I need to give it time and effort and it actually might turn into something that could pleasantly surprise me.
Best of luck to you!

Gents - something I learned many moons ago. There is no perfect job. And when you're "unemployed", go find volunteer work to keep your brain and muscles busy. When a job eventually turns up, hang in there and try to bring a bit of perfection to it.

Onward through the fog.

Tom- that's great advice.... Thanks!
I'm happy to be back being productive; mentally and physically.

It's been my experience they don't respond too well to that. (although it's funny how my ideas usually get implemented a little while after I leave.)
