After the first Battle of Manassas a Rebel soldier in the Union prison camp would harass the Union Sergeant of the guard. Everyday the Rebel would yell at the Sergeant " We really kicked your butts at the Battle of Manassas." This went on for several weeks until the Union Sergeant had finally had all he could stand. He ordered the Rebel removed from his cell and brought before him. "Son", he said, "you either take the oath or I'll have you hung because I'm tired of your mouth." " Ok," said the rebel soldier. At this point he was then inducted into the Union army. Later in the week he passed the old Sergeant on the parade grounds and yelled out " Them Rebs really kicked our butts at Manassas." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Good point. Except being descended from a long line of Rebs its hard to think Yankee.
