10 out of 10 for initiative. Good work! I hope Dale is able to get hold of some POR 15 products now.

I can understand how Dale is feeling - it does seem to be one thing after the other. But this is just another temporary set back for him. We all know that he will bounce back and come up with some lateral-thinking-solution. I am certainly mighty impressed with what he has achieved to date.

I used to run a Triumph as my every-day car and I started to feel a little like Dale as it seemed to constantly have something that needed to be repaired. The great thing about having a hobby car is that in situations such as this you can just shut the garage door and leave the thing, then come back to it later when you feel more like it.

I am looking forward to reading more instalments from Dale of his adventures with Amos around the island.

Keep it up Dale - you are an inspiration to the rest of us.

It was represented to her as a fully restored 1969 TR6.
She paid $10,000 initial cost. I have put another $36K
in repairs. Here's a partial summary:</span>

As I read that list, I have done probably 40% of that stuff to mine and not annoyed, happy to have the things re-newed. Other have done probably 80% of your list to theirs. Did Pedro give you a detailed list that these things were done? You said 2 years ago that Pedro told you he didn't know that much about the car and had not owned it long and only used it to go to car shows.

You can't abandon a classic car over gas. Getting gas to the car is too basic. Think of those guys walking along the street with gas cans in their hands. If you get rid of of the car one day, you'll need a more splendid and romantic explanation of how you and your dreams parted ways. Abondoning your car for this reason would be like putting a pet to sleep because you couldn't find its food.

You've done so much work and so much restoration. And you've taken it all in as an expert, with pride. You'll need a better reason to rid yourself of the car.

If it were me, I'd have blast putting a new tank in there, and restore the old one with POR 15 sometime off in the far distant future when they sell on EBAY for $2000. I hope you can save from earnings or work, or dig deep when the time is right, and just get it done.

Sorry if I'm taking it lightly.
