I wondered if anyone else is following this (2014) BBC series, dealing with a fictional British front line military hospital during WW1.

There's definitely a "soap opera" element, but the medical, personnel, political and logistics issues are eye opening.

And if you haven't yet watched it, the BBC three-part miniseries "37 Days", depicting the events in Europe leading up to August 4, 1914, is excellent. Ego, bluff, back-room negotiation, and face saving.

Sunday evening is PBS Soap Opera Evening around our home, Poldark then Crimson. We watched Poldark in the 70's, wife likes Robin Ellis better than the current.

Have to wipe the saliva off my missus face when the new Poldark is on. Drooling is so undignified.
