There are many such cars (prototype models). This one sure is neat though.

true; But you would have an awesome view at a scenic overlook.

anybody know this car?

No idea, but based on some of the lines, a wild guess would suggest some sort of early-mid 60's Pontiac

This was a 1958 Ford Nucleon, concept of a concept.
the plan was to power it with a pint size nuclear reactor & steam turbine, in the trunk.
Ford went so far as to plan reactor service stations to support the cars.
The concept died a natural death when it was determined a miniature reactor could not be made.

LOL, the forum auto-censor sort of killed your URL! :cool-new: Here's a "tiny URL" that points to the same page:

When I first saw that thing I thought it was the new El Camino! :highly_amused: , but then again, the El Camino wasn't even invented yet, probably where the idea came from though. :encouragement:

Even if a miniature reactor could have been made that was powerful enough to run a car, would you want one 10 years old and secondhand being driven down the road by someone who'd had a few too many on the way home??..

yep, your right. Ford Corp. apparently didn't put to much thought into the impact of such technology.

Imagine a nuclear reactor car in today's terrorized world.....

More to the point, Basil could be hosting the nuclear Ford forum - and we would all be glowing like the bulbs at the top of the page.

True, on the other hand they did have the pinto.

Ahhh, the pinto....
to dangerous to drive.....why not make one that flys instead.

Another bad idea.

I was going to ask if the OP's image was a Neucleon. Sort of a throwback to a time when <begin newsreel announcer voice> Atomic, nuclear power will soon become so easy to make, that there will be no need for the electric companies to charge money for it! <voice off>
