We finally moved the bugeye from my aunts house to my dads house. It is going to get a good bath this week to clean off as much of the dirt as i can. Then she is going up on blocks for a new engine, suspension, and everything else that needs replaced or upgraded. My dad said that when he would look over people would be pointing at the car and smiling. Big thanks to jason(blckse-r) for your help. The car was my dads, then he sold it to my uncle. Unforturnaly he passed away in january and my aunt gave me the car.

Halfway up because we couldnt push anymore on the stone alley. This is where my dad and my uncle's brother went to buy a come-along.

Looks like a great little car. Are you still thinking about putting a 1275 in it?

that is the plan as of right now.

Oh my goodness, that is nice. Keep all the 948 stuff, folks are looking all the time.

Looks like a nice one, and with the family connection to boot. Good luck with it. I'd second the advice on keeping all the 948 stuff--always nice to have around.

How did the Bugeye work on the tow dolly? I've thought about keeping an eye out for a used one as an emergency rescue tow platform.

Bugeyes work great on tow dollys. When I get to the point I have a roller I will sell my trailer and get one for sure.

The tow dolly worked like a charm. there was a bracket that holds the tire straps that we had to unbolt, but other than that it worked flawlessly.

I can't really keep it a 948 since it already has an 1100 in it. since it isnt really stock already i figured we would just go with the 1275

I can certainly appreciate the desire for the bit of extra oomph from the 1275. Even a keep-it-stock guy like me is considering it (I'll store the 948 and smoothcase). Since you're already in swap mode, go for it. Just be sure to post lots of pictures... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Long as you are doing a 1275 might as well go with a 5 speed, hehe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree. Five speed is the bee's knees.

... I've always wanted to use that expression, though I have no idea what it means. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's like saying "its' the cats pyjamas" Trevor. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

it is in pretty decent shape except for most or all of the mechanicals. there are some very small rust spots at some seams. havent checked out the floorboards, but they dont look so goot. other than that it is in decent shape.

Sorry about your uncle, but its awsome the bugeye has a new home. Those looks it got while towing are always there when you drive it. I can only second the vote for a 1275 and a 5 speed. It is well worth every penny spent. I think about every lbc has gone through the evolution yours is beginning, it is the fun of having the car. Yours seems to be a great one to start on.
