The Biggest Battery in the WORLD

I stepped "into the Zone" to get a replacement battery. The computer had several options for my Midget. One of which had a good warranty and more cranking power /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif. I got that one. It's MUCH bigger that my former battery, so much so that it sits right next to the heater box...right against it. Am I going to have issues once winter gets here and I start using the heater, or is this O.K.? Did I mention, that they're flush against one another.

Nope, so long as they don't rub a bunch.. The only thing you need to worry about with a battery are sparks nearby when it's charging, and getting anything close to the hot terminal..

What group size battery did you get?

probably a 24 series battery....The heat from the heater will not be an issue, just make sure all the wires are clear (including from the hood!)

I went to my local boaters world and got a plastic battery holder with a lid on it. It has a mounting strap that holds it in place. It makes a good seperation from the heater box and will prevent acid spills. Costs about $7.00.

FYI, Autozone tried to sell me a battery that wouldn't fit as well. I found that a group 51-R battery fits perfectly. You'll need the R because the regular group 51 will have to go in backwards, and the terminals will be up against the hold down bracket if you still have one.
