Thought I'd upload some pics for us 1500 guys with attached hoods. Most sources, even the owner's manual, shows to fold the quarterlights over the top of the hood when folding it up. This is, I think, NOT the best way. It puts the plastic right up against the top clamps, and folds that narrow strip of vinyl (between the windows) around four layers of fabric, then tries to bend it around a tight bend.
I think that is a dumb way to do it. It puts too much strain on that little strip of vinyl, and risks poking holes in your windows. This is a method that takes better care of those side windows, and keeps the plastic away from the clamps.
...From the driver's seat, undo the clamps (2) and snaps (6) on the inside. Roll down the windows and pop the doors.
...On the outside, undo the Tenax fasteners (6).
...Pull the hood back to its 'balance point,' a little less than halfway back.
...Tuck the side windows inside, making sure the fold is down that vinyl strip.
...This is what it looks like from the back.
...Now pull the hood free of the bows, draping it over the trunk as the bows fold down.
...Make sure nothing gets pinched (especially the windscreen snap-tab!) and the bows are fully folded.
...Flip the hood forward across the bows.
...Reach in and adjust the fold again, making sure the vinyl strip and not the plastic is doing the folding.
...Roll the hood down and around the bows. Et voila.
To erect the hood again, flip it over the trunk as before, pull the top to its 'balance point,' and pop out the quarterlights. Pull the hood forward, and fasten everything up.
