TR2/3/3A The 0.100" measurement when setting the slave clutch rod spec?

What do you use to set this gap or is it that critical? Most feeler gauges don't have a 0.100" blade or a 2.54 mm blade? Or is this similar to setting the points with a matchbook cover. :D
 
I just select a few feeler gauge blades that add up to .10, but honestly it’s not that hard to estimate.

It’s just as important, or more so, to know you’ve properly taken up the slack before rotating back the .1 clearance.
 
Same here. I used to take out the slack (easier said than done sometimes), and then back off 2-3 turns on the adjustment.
