I meant to post a thank you last month to Basil for working so quickly and diligently while changing to the new server. After reading in the Triumph forum about the current problems that the Vintage Triumph Registry is experiencing, it reminded me that we have a great forum operator who may not know how much we appreciate the time, effort and expense that he puts into maintaining this great website. It can be at times a thankless task, but I am sure that it is also a labor of love. So Basil, thank you for providing a great place on the web for British Car enthusiasts to congregate. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Sincerest regards,

Brian

Thanks for the nice thoughts and words. Yes, BCF is a labor of love. My wife thinks I'm nuts (she may be right), but I do enjoy the idea of bringing together diverse people from all over the globe to cuss and discuss a great hobby. Before the advent of the internet, I used to run a dial up BBS called "Cavern of Cyborg" where people could post messages and download what was called "Shareware" programs. It was not British car specific though. I actually had 4 phone lines into my house with 4 modems for people to log into my computer. I guess a forum like this was just a natural progression for me. Anyway, I am glad that the efforts are appreciated.

Appreciated isn't a strong enough word!! Whilst the forum was down, I felt very isolated. It was hard to go for several days without a fix of BCF, and if Basil suddenly decided to pull the plug on the whole thing I know that I would not be alone in saying that the void would be awfully hard to fill......I mean, I may have to talk to my wife! (Joke......honestly

Trouble is, Basil has now painted himself into a corner, there are many members who rely on the presence of the British Car Forum for contact with like-minded souls, and there is no way in which he can ever walk away from this now. Basil, you have created a monster!! #1 will forever hold you under his (or her) power!!

Queue demonic laughter, exits stage right.

As a matter of fact, I have begun writing detailed instructions for my family, regarding what to do with the forum in the event of my demise.
