Aloha, Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the felt rear seal without disassembling the gearbox? I'm thinking I might be able to remove the old seal and put the new one in by removing just the rear flange.
 
Dave , no. Its been awhile but I think the flange and the rear housing has to be drawn away from the splined end of the third motion shaft , the felt seal installed with the flange inserted , then the housing offered back to the gearbox .
