Aloha All,

I'm having a problem with the fuel pump losing suction. I'm wondering if the fuel tank needs to be vented. If the TF tank is vented, how is it done?

Only venting I know of on T-Series is in the cap.

Doc is correct, but there could be a screen on the end of the pickup. Remove hard line at the bottom and undo the fitting on the bottom of the tank. Be sure to fit a new crush washer at the fitting.

You should have one of these on the tank where the gas line attaches to. If they have never been replaced they can fall apart and let debris clog the fitting. Check and if it's bad replace it with a new one. PJ
If fuel is not going to the pump, you can damage the pump by running it. $$$

Thank you Guys, I have a new outlet filter in the tank. If the cap is the vent, does that mean it does not seal? Is there a small in the cap to vent the tank? My next step is to blow out the fuel lines.

It does seal on the rim of the tank. Cap should “float” to the touch when closed. I run copper pipe…if if is steel, you may have an issue. Look for holes in the hard line.

Update, I removed the pump in preparation to blow out the lines. The line to the carbs was relatively dry. I'm confident the problem is a blocked line to the pump. I'll drain the tank and clean the outlet filter. I may have to flush out the tank depending on how much crap the filter stopped. The pump seems to be working.
