I am still in the planning stage but I need to get an idea of how many people are considering coming in June. I you think you are coming, please drop me a line at
triumphtr7s@me.com

This way I can plan for food and other important things.

Thanks

I have the place.

I have the food.

I have the guest speaker.

I have the date.

I have the police.

What am I missing?

Oh, yes!

The cars!!

What up guys? No one has said they are interested!

Dang, Clay!

If I still had my TR8, and if I were a little closer...

C'mon, guys - there must be someone wanting to go!

Texas Wedges Unite!

Heck, I'll try and buy a wedge by then just so I can go!

Clay, if I was a single guy I'd be there in a heart beat.
Just to far from Seattle

Clay, any idea when in June? Did I miss that part?
I would love to be able to get there if the timing is right. DH on the other hand..... :smirk: Well, I could likely find a way to persuade him.

Actually, if he stays, he can be stay at home Daddy with the girls. Hmmm, that actually sounds like it could work. --Monica

OK, It is set for Saturday in June 11.

My church has decided to supply the meeting location, so we will have restrooms (no Porta-potties!), water, electricity and a freezer to store the ice cream in. They do require that it be a neighborhood outreach, so it will be open to the public from 9am to 12 noon. There is a covered area in case it rains or you just want to sit in the shade! There will be Houston Police security on site.

We are scheduled to check in at 9:00, have Chick-Fil-A breakfast and a car wash until 10:00.

!0:00 to 12:00 is browsing and talking time.

12:00 to 1:00 is pig out on Bar-B-Que time.

If we get 25 car, then 1:00 to 2:00 is key-note speaker time and Q&A. Ted Schumacher, owner of TS Imported Automotive and avid racer has agreed to be our speaker, but I need to have 25 cars registered to afford to fly him to Houston.

2:00 to 3:00 is Blue Bell Ice Cream and clean up/pack up time.

3:00 we leave after making some really great friends!

It looks like there will be a registration fee of $35 dollars to help cover the cost of food. I will be talking to the nearest hotel to see if we can get a break on room rates for those who need a place to stay over night. Also, if you want, you can attend the Texas Triumph Register regular monthly meeting after we brake up.

Well, I hope that is enough information for now. I am going to put together a flier and post it.

Gentlemen,

Three months ago, I started thinking of putting together a gathering of Wedges here in Texas. I was able in one week to find the venue, get the catering, Police officers, venders scheduled to show their products, get a sponsor for the car wash and book a keynote speaker. The venue is willing to advertise the event locally as a neighborhood outreach.

Then the issue of Event Insurance came up. I have spent two months talking to various insurance companies (Allstate, Haggerty, etc.) trying to get coverage. I asked VTR if I could get coverage and then TWOA but I have hit a brick wall.

I am tired.

I go to club meetings all the time where they say we need more youthful people to be interested in our cars. It is just too difficult to meet the insurance requirements. I would like to thank all those who have been helping me with this effort!

The Texas Wedge Ralley and Picnic is dead.</span></span> I have learned my lesson so that my later days will be prosperous, chocolate coated, if I don't bite off more than I can chew.
