Some of you may already know of this test site, but for those who don't, here's a place where you can test your internet speed and compare it with average "global speeds".

https://www.speedtest.net

Here are my results:

Not the best but not bad either. I certainly don't have any problems - movies all seem to stream smoothly with very rare buffering (usually at times when there are lots of neighbors online).

I find my download speed changes minute by minute; routers, cables, servers, loads, etc all along the line.

Do you recall what maximum download speed you're actually supposed to be getting from your ISP?

No, I don't. I find mine fluctuates also, but is usually in the 20-somethign range most of the time. I think this test will try to find the best path from your location to its test server. It's not definitive nor a constant, but interesting anyway.

Here in Sunday morning Comcast gets an "A" (download 36, upload 6). I'm also using a router.

Geez John, what do you expect when you live in Canada

Mark- Where did it go thru?
Didn't look at that part.

EDIT: Just checked again... it was with Comcast Portland (here in Portland, OR). The second time produced essentially the same score at 5:30PM Sunday (about 35 download and 6 upload, with a grade of "A").

mine never did come up or perhaps I just couldn't wait the 10 mins

I tried again tonight (several hours after the first attempt) and got essentially the same result (a few tenths higher)

Guess I'm pretty happy with Cox except for the price, of course.
