So did the gearbox myself and think OD is good and wanna see if what I did is ok so fill with oil and go for a drive? Nothing will be wired. What can I mess up that I have not already?

Never, never, never ask that...

Do you have a 1/2" chuck drill? The pilot end of the input shaft is 1/2". You can chuck your drill motor onto that, spin-up your tranny (CLOCKWISE, the same direction your engine turns -- THIS IS IMPORTANT) on the bench, and check everything, including OD function.
It would be nice to have one of those OD pressure test gauges, but it can be done without.
If it all looks (sounds) good, then mate it to the motor and take your test drive.

I completely understand that!
Never asking that other thing has to do with the supernatural ability that question has to show you just exactly what else you could mess up -- often, fairly quickly. Bad Ju-Ju!
 
It's definitely worth a bench test first - unless you have a much stronger back than I do and enjoy pulling the trans in and out of the car!

I just bench test the od I plan on putting in the 3A - looks pretty good, but the gauge gave me 300 psi which I think might be a little low - for me the testing was definitely worth it.
