For a TR3? My capillary tube end is 5/8-18 UNF . It is not a pipe thread, and I recommend pipe dope anyway, because the hot water likes to seep.

Me again. The thread size could be defined as 3/8 OD compression fitting. I measured one and the OD is about 5/8 at 0.621 in. Le
So for an adapter for a Smiths Cobra water temperature gauge I could use a male 3/8BSP to a male 5/8 UNF ? Correct?
