ok the mk2 is running!
I have a working water temp gauge, ok so what should it be reading sitting in the drive way? on the road too but I will have to hook up the brake resivor and move the healey

steve

Should be about hallway on gauge, when warm and full temperature, running or at idle. If your is in Celsius around 75-80. 100 bad.

I think i have air in the system
i figured the needle should be strait vertical so you can check it at a glance

Bleed it at the heater. Far left, away from the tap, tap open (hot on the slider). Straight up is correct.

yep did that yesterday, I have the heater out so my bi pass hose. will try again tommarrow on the heater. looks like i need to bleed the breaks before the EU control. I have 4 good days left before my next chemo.

ok back to this after final Chemo treatment.
the thermostat is working right. new water pump so good circulation.
our heat gun says the intake manifold is at 70 on both sides of the thermosate
but the gauge is pegged at 110.
A. what is wrong?
B. how can I get the gauge to give us accuart info

steve

is gauge electric or tube? If tube you will need to check for leaks and repair. If electrical need to check ohms and voltage at sender and gauge. The old tube style is filled with a gas and there is a repair on youtube under Dodge sender repair. Not sure but saw it a while back, have to be careful in the fix.

its electric and new, and I have tried two gauges.
so a friend of mine with a infrared thermomiter checked and when the thermosat housing was at 70 the gauge was pinned to 110

Voltage check sender and check voltage at dash. In the manuals there is a reference to temp and ohms or voltage. Check ground at gauge and make sure connection to temp sender not grounding.
