Temp. Probe for 1275 with Bugeye Radiator?

I've heard that the strips are quite accurate, but I don't have anything other than the combination gauge in my dash to compare against. The strips have segments spaced at 5 degree Celcius intervals. The instructions that come with the strips say that they take on the following colors:

Green: Actual temperature
Brown: Just above actual temperature
Blue: Just below actual temperature

No information about relative accuracy is provided in the documentation.
