Teens Killed in Frogeye!

Entertaining.

No wonder they are in an accident. They are driving on the wrong side of the road!:rolleye:

Kurt

Looked like a Sunbeam parked on the side of the road. Boy, that sure ended up being one toasted Frog by the illustration! I don't even think that is possible to do to a Sprite.

That's Sydney, Australia, in case anyone's interested.

Didn't you get the location in NY city right too?? Familiar with Sydney Aus as well and now living out on the prairie?????

Well traveled!

Kurt.

Yes, Kurt, I got that one right too.

I actually had been on that corner in New York more times than I could count (lived in Manhattan 20 years), but the Sydney connection was a fluke. Last year I edited a book about an Australian architect named Harry Seidler whose office overlooked the Sydney Luna Park. When I visited there, it caught my eye because I was familiar with the original Luna Park, which opened at Coney Island in 1903, and unfortunately burned down in 1944. Coney Island was a favorite haunt of mine when I lived back east.

I grew up in KS and returned a few years ago to take care of my parents--I need to keep them in their home as long as possible because my Bugeye lives in their garage. :smile-new:

And how many MGA/Midget/Berkeley owners live in South Dakota anyway? Can't be many--Drove up from KC to Sioux City, on 29 last year, and all the way across the state on I90 to see Mt. Rushmore and the rest of the sights. Really pretty country up there.

Ha ha. Oh yeah, Histerical. I just built a fully-accessible house next to their fully-non-accessible, non-retrofittable 1860s stone farmhouse so that theoretically, they will never have to go into an assisted living facility. When they start needing help we will just move people in! BTW you live in a pretty nice part of the country yourself. Good buddy of mine lives near Katonah--used take the Saw Mill up from NYC to see him.

Ha, yeah I'm kinda an odd ball in these parts. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a guy in Sioux Falls selling two Berkeley's a few years ago. I've replaced the MGA with a Lotus Elan now though and know of one more Elan in the state.

Kurt.

In fact, Architech, I live just a few miles off of I 29. The Black Hills are usually a destination at least once a year and I know some great sporty car roads out there. Getting to be overcrowded though and Iron Mountain road needs to be taken at sunrise to really have fun on it. Spearfish Canyon is catching up to that but I know of some that most other folks don't that great fun.
Don't know where you are in Kansas but my favorite route going south is old US 77 and if you are ever on it try not to miss the road to Alcove Springs just north of Blue Rapids. Just a little historical marker to denote it but its where the Reed/Donner party camped for a few days to wait for Reeds mother-in-law to pass away. Always figured if that hadn't happened they would have made it over the Sierra's before the snow!

I like to wander!:friendly_wink:
Kurt.

Kurt--oh yeah, that Spearfish Canyon Road would be amazing in a Sprite--if one didn't have an SUV on one's tail.

I have never been to Alcove Springs--I will consider it for the future but I've been on Highway 77 between I-70 and Manhattan hundreds of times (went to school at KSU)--south of 70 you get into the Flint Hills, gorgeous country. Where would you have been going south to? I live in Lawrence now.

Well, hope others are getting some travel tip's! Been south many times for one thing or another....last, I think, was to pick up a fiberglass front end for a Spridget in Wichita. Went through the Flint Hills and visited the Tall Grass prairie preserve. As stated, when I get the chance, I like to wander...kids used to give me a hard time about stopping to read "hysterical markers" and a trip without first consulting the Rand McNally to see what we might be getting close to is a trip I never take.
