Actual technical advice on a 73 TR6 alternator problem from a well known LBC parts supplier.

"Remove offending Alternator from the vehicle. Paint the entire unit purple making sure to leave no bare spots. Place unit in a large steel drum and beat on it with the biggest, scariest hammer you have until the demons come out. Reinstall the alternator on the car and test for functionality. If the unit still doesn't work then you will need to purchase a new rebuilt unit."
