On my previous cars, I always set the timing using dynamic timing light, but on the Bugeye it appears that static timing is the way to go.
i am a little unclear about finding TDC for Static Timing on the Bugeye. According to the instructions I have, I need to turn the engine over so that No. 1 piston is coming up to the TDC on the compression stroke. The instructions go on to say that this can be checked by removing No. 1 spark plug and feeling the pressure being developed in the cylinder. But, it goes on, both No. 1 and 4 cylinders come up to TDC at the same time but only one is on the firing stroke. I assume this means that when No. 1 is on compression stroke, it is the only one with pressure (compression), and that No. 4 is rising to TDC without pressure as it is in exhaust stroke.
Just need to be sure I understand what is happening. u
