Trying to point someone in the right direction. Which is the trans of choice for a TD 5 speed swap and who makes a kit, Rivergate? Thanks.

I thought you could put the Z and 510 boxes in those.
Not that I'm aware of (though I could be wrong) -- there's not a lot of room there. Motor's a 1250.

Those larger Nissan boxes work in the MGB.

I work on a 50 that has a moss kit w/ the type 9. I was not the original installer... but I spent considerable time sorting out what that "technician" did. The kit is nice, fits OK, as long as you actually pay attention to the destructions that Moss supplies. The only drawdack I can see is that the engine is slightly moved forward, and when we put the Judson on, the throttle shaft interferes with the bonnet louvers. The owner loves the car, and drives it every chance he gets.

In my opinion, for what it's worth and not knocking the Datsun conversion, the Moss kit is the way to go if you want everything needed in a box. It's very complete, with all the things you'll need. Just remember, these conversions are not for someone to do that has limited mechanical skills. Once these (KITS)?, are installed, there are other adjustments that have to be made. If you have never done it, check with those who have. They've been there and can give you valuable information and tips that will make the job much easier.
I will say this, there are no more Datsun 210s available. You might find one a private owner has, but the junk yards are out of them, so parts availability isn't the greatest. Another sales point for the T-9. JMHO. PJ

I might be wrong, but I heard Skyhook, one of those who made the 210 conversions, are done. No more transmissions. Maybe they went to something else??

Well, I just found out that Rivergates conversion is about $1000 less than Moss. I am curious if that is total cost with rebuilt transmission and all. Of course that's not shipping and Vat. Anyone know? PJ
