T-Series TC Steering Box Worm Gear

Can anyone repair a TC steering box worm gear? Replacements are not available and while the old worm could be built up and remachined, it would involve a hideously expensive machining setup. Does anyone have a setup to do this? If not, can the steering box be replaced with something that will be more durable?
