Targo purple? Anyone?

I posed the same question a bit ago on the forum, as my car was originally black with the targo purple interior. It is indeed that mauve color. I had some interior bits from before it was restored that weren't sun-bleached, and they look very close to the color chart you posted. It's a weird, creamy purple color. I opted to go with black exterior and grey interior. looks nice.

I did find this dutch guy's TR3, which is ridiculously nice. He went for a very bright purple for the interior. Nothing like the targo, but i nice TR anyway: https://www.triumph-tr3a.nl/index.htm

Now that I look at it, I went with the Phantom Grey, which is darker than the Silverstone.

Uh, worse...that's the (dreaded) Magenta! Although, I actually kinda like that as well...but I like it better on Spitfires!
 
I think I like the color combination even better now that I have seen the colors. The purple is not as bold as I thought it would be. The downside to all this would be the cost to reproduce. The most expensive cars are always the ones produced in low numbers. I don't think they made many with your color combination. What color was the top and side curtains? Did your car come with wire wheels? I think it would look better with wires than the disc wheels. Try not to loose to much sleep over this. If I had to vote for best of show grey&purple would win hands down.
 
It came with a black top and steel wheels originally. Not really any options other than hearer, whitewall tires, and tonneau. Went to Cal Sales in San Fransisco, possibly was a longer term West Coast car which may explain why the body seems in pretty good shape.

I'm not fretting too much yet, I have some work to do before I start picking colors. I do think going with a rare color will cost quite a bit, carpet, furflex, etc would probably be a little bit of a pain. Still want to see a picture of a real car, though - those little swatches don't do much.

I'd go with the Silverstone and Targo. You picked a TR3 because - I suspect - you don't want to drive what everyone else drives. How many red or brg TR3's have you seen? Silverstone and Targo? Be unique among the unique! :smile: And it's authentic to your car!

Boy now that is a strange color combo... baby blue and a purple with white piping interior. But being on the TR3 somehow makes that ride seem beautiful.

As far as the gray and purple combo go, go for it... but only if you plan on selling it at a Barrett Jackson auction later on. If you don't, and you probably never see yourself parting with your baby, then just do the color combo that makes you happy. You chose a non-lemming car, so do the non-lemming thing, and forget about original.
 
That looks like a magenta respray. Better than expected, actually - wouldn't mind a hot purple interior like that to compliment a gray paint job. But Targo Purple it is not, I think.
