Tapered wheel bearings worth it or not?

Tom - Good catch, and something people should check. In my case (a Bugeye w/drum brakes and later a sprite w/~'1962 disk brakes - the spindles are different, I think) grinding was never necessary.

I probably have a set of those bearings *somewhere* in the garage; if I find them I'll post the part #s.
